San Francisco Vacation Rentals – Better Than Hotels?

It's no wonder San Francisco vacation rentals are becoming more and more popular. Dollar for dollar, you get so much more than a hotel. We also love the self-sufficiency it allows us — with so much wonderful, local, fresh food & wine, it's great to have a kitchen to whip up breakfast, lunch, or even dinner.

Vacation rental apartments beat hotels by offering more space, more features like rooftop terraces, separate dining areas, laundry facilities, and sometimes even parking. You'll feel like you live in the city and you'll get to know the neighborhood. Our selection of apartments take you around the city from Ashbury Heights, North Beach, and Union Square to SOMA and the Castro.

Sumner House 2-Bedroom Apartment

Sumner House 2-Bedroom Apartment

If a rooftop hot tub sounds enticing, you might want to book this luxury two-bedroom apartment in the heart of San Francisco. To our way of thinking, a rooftop space with a hot tub, dining table, lounge chairs and heat lamp adds immeasurably to the experience. And then, of course, there's the apartment.

Guests rave about the 1,200 square feet of luxury space with hardwood floors, gourmet kitchen with dark wood counters and a marble island, laundry room, and having an on-site manager. Free WIFI and on-site parking. Bottom line — a vacation rental that fits family or friends and is a pleasure to stay in.

Upper Terrace Cottage – A Top Pick!

Upper Terrace Cottage

Nestle into your luxury cottage in an exclusive area of Haight-Ashbury, called Ashbury Heights. What can you expect at Upper Terrace Cottage? The apartment is thoughtfully decorated, has a tranquil garden, and affords spectacular views of Buena Vista Park and Twin Peaks.

The apartment's kitchen is fully equipped, much to our delight, and there are a gas oven and stove. As you would expect, there's a coffee maker, toaster, dishwasher, large refrigerator, and microwave. For your entertainment needs, there are three televisions with flat screens, an extensive cable package with HBO, Showtime, etc. You enter the apartment through a private entrance from a charming pathway.

Walk down the hill to the best of neighborhood shopping and dining in Cole Valley, the Castro, or Haight-Ashbury. You're also close to Golden Gate Park, the de Young Museum and the California Academy of Sciences. It's just a 10 minute walk to the Castro where you can catch a trolley into the city, to Pier 39, or to Union Square.

Guests rave about the helpful hosts, great location and the thoughtful gestures like wine and chocolates when you arrive. Guests also love the peaceful, environment and thought it felt like a wonderful sanctuary. Free WIFI & free local & domestic long distance calling. Bottom line — a lovely oasis of calm; a hidden gem!
