The Best Of Sonoma County Hotels – Five Luxury Choices

Compared to the Napa Valley, Sonoma wine country offers a slower pace, less tourism, and a chance to explore some rustic and more laid-back wineries. Sonoma County hotels are no exception to this idea of slower-paced tourism. They can be — and are — luxurious, but they also provide a homey style comfort.

The rugged landscape is an ideal place for wine lovers to make their base from which to explore the backroads, vineyards, and charming small towns of Sonoma County. Kenwood, Healdsburg, and Sonoma itself are favorite towns and, incidentally, home to the finest accommodation in the county. Join us on a virtual tour of our five fave luxurious Sonoma County hotels.

Loved everything the minute we walked into the cottage. The ladies were super sweet; the garden was perfectly done; our room was gorgeous and very, very clean. Breakfast in the morning was fresh and those croissants were better that those I ate from Paris. It was a magical escape. Loved the fireplace in the yard. I wish we could have spent more time there. Short walk to the main square. Loved that there was not a TV in the room!"

Even though the hotel overall is small (only 6 or so rooms) the size of our room was very generous. Amazing room and wonderfully large bathroom with two vanities. Being such a small property, the staff is able to make you feel right at home; we had a lovely stay!"

Inn at Sonoma

One guest complained that the breakfast was too good! They said that instead of the delicious quiche, they would have preferred a boiled egg and plain yogurt.
