Sonoma County Hotels – The Five Best Budget Options

Talking about the differences between Napa & Sonoma often starts a lively debate. There's no doubt about it, Sonoma is more rustic, bucolic, and somehow more inviting that its sophisticated and more polished neighbor. It's generally agreed you will spend less. Sonoma County hotels — in towns like Santa Rosa, Kenwood, Sonoma, and Healdsburg — are great options if you like the idea of seeing a varied and rugged wine country and saving money.

Sonoma County and the Napa Vally are separated by the Mayacamas Mountains and it's an easy drive to visit one region from the other. So you can take in both areas from one base, making Sonoma County hotels a great choice — especially when you can save money to spend on wine!

MacArthur Place Inn

What we like about this Sonoma county hotel is that it's set in seven acres of lush gardens and vineyards. We particularly like the Cabana Suite with a private garden, fountain and — you guessed it — your own outdoor rain shower in a protected cabana. We also like that there's a fabulous in-house restaurant, Saddles, one of the best steak restaurants in the county. They also serve breakfast, lunch, and have a Happy Hour. Guests have liked the clean rooms, free parking, the lovely pool, and special touches like complimentary champagne on a wedding anniversary.
